I a experiencing the same issue, I have a Thinkpad T60 with x1400 ATI Graphics, as soon as I installed vista SP1, now sometimes when I start the laptop or it comes back from hibernation the vista login screen shows black horizontal lines and it's frozen or i start to see the black hotizontal lines and after reboot I get the blue screen of death.

The only think I have it installed besides the OS is the Adobe CS 2 Master Collection. Anyone else in the same boat as me? I tried the link in the comments above but it didn't resolve the issue.

This forum post looks like the same problem, still no solution though:

<a href="http://www.technologyquestions.com/technology/windows-vista/214009-problem-event-name-bluescreen.html" rel="nofollow">http://www.technologyquestions.com/technology/windows-vista/214009-problem-event-name-bluescreen.html</a>

Using a laptop without hibernation is like going back to Windows 98 - productivity really suffers!
